ABOUT THE CSF

The CroatianStudies Foundation(CSF) is a not-for-profit organisationestablished in 1984 with the broad aim of promoting the study of Croatian language,and safeguardingCroatian culturewithin Australia.

As part of its commitment to this aim, the CSF has established the Community, Culture & Research Sponsorship Scheme to provide financial assistance to individuals and community groups for activities that:

  • Promote and encourage the study of Croatian language in Australia
  • Promote knowledge and awareness of Croatia, both within the local Croatian community and broader Australian community
  • Promote scholarship related to the Croatian past and present
  • Support university students(undergraduate and postgraduate) studying Croatian language, history or culture

COMMUNITY, CULTURE & RESEARCH SPONSORSHIP SCHEME

There are grants totaling up to $10,000 for calendar year 2020.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

You are eligible to apply for a grant under the Community, Culture& Research Sponsorship Scheme if you are an individual, academic/researcher/student or community group/institution. The Scheme supports projects that promote study and research of Croatian language, history and culture or broaden knowledge of Croatia amongst the general community.

Each project will be evaluated based on how it aligns with the aims of the CSF, the quality of the project and its anticipatedoutcomes. A number of the grants will be awarded each year in existingcategories (Culture, Community, Research) and the amounts awarded are atdiscretion of CSF Governing Council.

You are not eligible to apply for a grant if:

  • You or a family member are directors of the CSF Governing Council
  • You have received sponsorship from the CSF in the previous three years.

GRANT RULES

Grants can be used for variety of purposes such as: travel,teaching/research equipment and resources, accommodation, conference fees etc.The received funds must be spent in one year after the announcement of theresults.

Grant recipients are required to acknowledge the financial support of CSFin publications or any other acceptable outlets indicated under ‘Anticipatedproject outcomes’, with the full description of the project.

Grant recipients will be notified by email by Friday 28 August 2020 and their names, project titles and a short description of the project will be published on the CSF website and social media.

The Foundation reserves the right to decide the total number of grantsand the amount awarded per grant.
